The research is mainly focused on developing new methods for the stereoselective synthesis of potentially bioactive heterocyclic compounds. In particular, by privileging strategies based on multicomponent and / or sequential one-pot processes and by exploiting organ- and electrocatalytic methods, we aim to:
- The asymmetric synthesis of libraries of new heterocyclic compounds variously functionalized suitable for in vitro and in vivo screening of biological activity.
- The identification of new catalysts to be used in the homogeneous or heterogeneous phase or in combination with other catalytic systems, designed to maximize chemical efficiency, sustainability and stereocontrol of the reactions.
