The research activity is aimed at the experimental study of magnetic materials of technological interest. Over the years, various systems have been studied, such as magnetic films and multilayers in which the magnetic materials are intercalated with non‐magnetic materials; magnetic particle systems in which the particles are either isolated or embedded in matrices of different natures. The results are interpreted by comparing them with suitable theoretical/computational models. The experimental techniques consist of growth methodologies for the realization of some materials and investigation methodologies, such as magnetometry, susceptometry, and magneto‐optical techniques.
The magnetic properties are also measured for application purposes. These materials are used in data recording, spintronics (spin‐electronics) and sensors.
