The active research lines therefore concern the use of graphene oxide or its derivatives / composites for applications in:
- Sensors (collaboration with the group of Prof. Passacantando of Physics of matter - DSFC and of the group of Prof. Cantalini of Chemical Engineering - DIIIE))
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (collaboration with the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Imaging Spectroscopy group of Prof. Alecci, Galante of MESVA)
- Tissue engineering (cell adhesion, growth and differentiation) (collaboration with the Neurobiology group of Prof. Cimini - MESVA)
- Polymeric matrices enriched with GO and derivatives (hydroxyapatitic matrix for coatings of bone and dental prostheses, epoxy matrices for functional coatings)
- Adsorption of pesticides (collaboration with the analytics group of Prof. Ruggieri - DSFC)
- Modification of surfaces through the formation of self-assembling monolayer (SAM) for surface wettability studies.
Accessible equipment for preparations: Organic synthesis apparatus, chemical hood, vacuum evaporator, stove, laminar flow hood, centrifuge, sonicator, vortex, heated plates, stirrers, scales.
Characterization of materials by: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV-Vis spectroscopy, Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy and Diffraction at X-ray (XRD), Contact Angle.
